Philippine Literature (english version)

In litfili class, we discussed about the forefathers of Philippine literature and so I made this blog for further reactions regarding Filipino literature. From what I can say, Filipinos are typically hardworking, fun-loving, highly talented and industrious people. Though possesing thesequalitytraits they are still highly influenced by a long historic past that is still evident in Filipino works and society today.

From the literature we discussed at class, the characters from the articles seem to portray ordinary people from a third world country, but they seem no different with the people belonging to the upper class because they were able to be happy and celebrate the simplest things that they get everyday. They are people who value tradition for generations and observes the ordinary family values.

The authors portray the Filipinos as what they seem to be in today's society. Even thought they lived during the post-war era, much of these trauts are still evident in the Philippine society.

i agree with what you said, we Filipinos tend to be very traditional and we always work very hard till our sweat turns into blood. That is why being a Filipino is a blessing. Nothing will ever be like us.
